Yes, though he quickly becomes obsolete, which is common in the series for your initial persona. Most people would suggest ignoring Izanagi and moving on, but I personally always liked him.

Get all the skills you need to transfer to Izanagi to those two first before fusing, obviously. 2nd tip: Magician Arcana Chance will help you get skills you couldn't learn from Obariyon-Shikome fusing.
