You are correct in generally the blue label isn't used on the 6-speed transmissions. 18-NA-355 applies specifically to the RWD 8-speed transmission, I had it performed on my Colorado. I have not seen any suggestion the blue label fluid would be detrimental to the 6 speed, but I don't think it's the answer.
