DE want Forma to be a trade-off. They want it to be restrictive to later building. Warframe is a grind-based game specifically because of things like this. The only concession DE have ever made towards this idea of multiple forma being restrictive is the ability to move polarities around after you put the first one on.

The reality is that if you change a polarity on 1 load out, it applies to all load outs and this needs to be improved. I understand the importance of the polarity boost (+14 cap) but they could remove polarities from Auras and still give them all a passive (+14 cap). My argument is the fluidity of the current system.The lanka however is a clan tech weapon, and it's pretty high up on the research tree, requiring 3 other things to be researched first, then to actually build the weapon you need 5 fieldron, 20 gallium and 1 forma, yet it comes with zero polarities and is pretty much garbage if you don't put a catalyst on it or forma it at least a couple of times.
Warframes (and weapons) have preset basic polarities for everyone. Prime versions will have more (usually 1 more) and possibly slightly different polarities. You can polarize any slot by using a forma on that slot (you choose the new polarity). This can only be done on a rank 30 frame/weapon, and resets it down to rank 0.In my opinion NO weapons should require more than 8 forma's to unlock every slot with a polarity.
